AI teammates will no longer win possession outright for you or boast extreme interception radiuses; instead, manual input gets a wider reach and better tackles. The Corner Kick & Crossing Rework: Long-standing short corner metas might finally be challenged. A new camera transition during corners gives players a brief window to trigger "avoidance" mechanics, shield, and manually attack space in the box. Coupled with a complete crossing overhaul that replaces assisted trajectories with space-targeted deliveries, crossing into the box might actually be viable again.
New L1 & R1 Trigger Mechanics: The team breaks down the newest controller additions. By tapping both L1 and R1 (LB & RB) simultaneously, players can now trigger curved runs to exploit spaces behind high-line center-backs. Additionally, EA is capping the distance of manual-triggered runs to prevent unauthentic 80-yard fullback overlaps that force opponents into low-block six-at-the-back systems.
Off-Balance Dribbling & PlayStyles: Powered by physical attributes, elite dribblers will now stumble through shoulder challenges and body bumps without instantly losing control. Plus, EA has narrowed the gap between regular PlayStyles and PlayStyle+ traits to make early-game starter cards far more useful.
