And like I said last week, we'll make a short when there's something to discuss through the means of a short instead of the big shows. And boy, oh boy, did we get something to discuss this weekend. [00:01:36] And for those of you aren't aware, the odds on getting the new Ronaldinho was significantly higher.

[00:01:43] Lots of people apparently packed him. I don't think it was the same degree.

[00:01:47] A lot of Bersley.

[00:01:48] Well, I mean, I played quite a lot of Dev2 rivals today and haven't seen him once.

[00:01:52] Although you go on social media and everyone seems to have got him.

[00:01:55] So I don't think it's quite the same because Messygate was pretty much a guaranteed Messi,

[00:02:00] apart from maybe one in however many unlucky people.

[00:02:03] But you got one. Of course you did.

[00:02:05] I didn't get one. I didn't get one of the unlucky people.

[00:02:08] Yeah, it was taken down. I mean, that's the big difference.

[00:02:10] I think with Messygate, it was an issue with the code.

[00:02:12] I think if I remember right, it was one of three leagues over a certain rate in the Messi.

[00:02:16] There was only maybe one or two players with that rate.

[00:02:19] And so Messi was almost guaranteed.

[00:02:22] Whereas this time it doesn't appear to be that they've left the SBC.

[00:02:25] Well, not the SBC, the store pack up.

[00:02:47] The cynic in me thinks actually EA have been very clever by handing these out a little bit more regularly

[00:02:52] because people are either going to go and put on points or use their coins

[00:02:56] and maybe they'll drop something fairly big coming up soon.

[00:02:58] The fact they left it up was a bit strange.

[00:03:00] So maybe it was by design this time.

[00:03:03] That's where my sort of thoughts went to.

[00:03:05] Yeah. So summary, we got a couple of packs this weekend.

[00:03:08] One of the packs that cost 75,000 coins or 500 FIFA points, which relatively speaking 500 FIFA points are cheap for it.

[00:03:17] And you get a player pick from it.

[00:03:19] One out of three with certain shooting and pay stats.

[00:03:22] I think it was.

[00:03:24] Was it called crack? Take a crack?

[00:03:28] Yeah. And many people go out to Rondinho from it.

[00:03:31] The big difference is Messi was an SPC last year.

[00:03:35] So they gave out an SPC, which you had to do that could give out a good chance of getting an untradable Messi from it.

[00:03:43] This one is out of the store.

[00:03:44] Also it's last year, it was Tuesday.

[00:03:47] This year it's on Sunday.

[00:03:48] So I think there's also different, a little bit of a difference there that they can't really fix it when there's no team present.

[00:03:54] Maybe that could be something.

[00:03:56] But also I know a lot of people that I spent 225,000 coins.

[00:04:03] That's a good amount of money.

[00:04:05] If you get a Rondinho from it,

[00:04:07] that's actually a lot of money you threw throughout.

[00:04:10] But if you're like me, you get three Debalas as your best choice.

[00:04:13] In all seriousness, I think it's not comparable with Messi.

[00:04:17] Because the SPC everyone could do and it was just up for a short while.

[00:04:20] So they said there's a mistake only 0.7% got it or something.

[00:04:24] And this pack is still up today.

[00:04:55] is actually still a month earlier than the Messi gate was last year.

[00:04:59] What's your say about that? How do you feel?

[00:05:02] Like I'm frustrated that I didn't get him.

[00:05:03] Like because I haven't faced him a lot, it doesn't bother me.

[00:05:07] But I'm sure when some of these players come on that have him and I'm facing him every game,

[00:05:10] I'll be really fed up and frustrated.

[00:05:13] He's a little bit like Messi.

[00:05:15] Like he's a good player, but not everyone can get the best out of him.

[00:05:18] So, you know, the positive person in me says at least it's not an Mbappi who if they gave out free special Mbappis would just tear through most teams.

[00:05:27] You don't actually have to be that good to get the best out of Mbappi because he's, you know, he's like the perfect player.

[00:05:31] The same time, I do like R10. Like I usually get on really well with him.

[00:05:35] I get on much better with him than I do with Messi.

[00:05:38] So that part of me is really frustrated.

[00:05:41] And yeah, I'm annoyed because I very rarely seem to profit from these type of things.

[00:05:45] It's another, I'm going to say it's a mistake.

[00:05:47] It's another mistake that you have made, which is my bugbear as a quality manager, my, you know, my actual job.

[00:05:52] So I don't understand how these things keep happening.

[00:05:54] I don't understand why they like, yeah, how this can get through either a quality control if there is one and it keeps going out because yes, it'll bring in a bit of money, but it's probably going to deter a lot of people from the game.

[00:06:07] So people probably may decide that actually this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back that's yet to be seen.

[00:06:13] So I'm not, I'm not raging.

[00:06:15] I'm disappointed.

[00:06:16] You know, it's one of those.

[00:06:18] I think it's like that, you know, I'm not too worried because when you face him, if people aren't tricksters, he's not as effective.

[00:06:25] Don't get me wrong, but he's not as like this, this better this cards out there that I would hate to not have a free version of compared to certain ones.

[00:06:36] Although if you do know how to use him, it can be really nice to have, right?

[00:06:40] Plus it is a card that could stay in your team all year.

[00:06:47] That's the thing at this time of the year.

[00:06:49] If you've only got one play style, you know, there's, there's very few cards, but then to be fair, R10 is R10.

[00:06:54] And he's, he's so unique that he is going to be very, very good.

[00:06:58] If like I say, if you get the best out of him, but you know, some of these cards will drop a far 10 stays expensive.

[00:07:03] You know, there's, there's a handful of them that you would love to have in your team.

[00:07:07] Now that we'll see you right through at least the team of the season, let alone team of the year.

[00:07:10] But I would, I would imagine those people that have woken up or those did open the pack will be on top of the, on top of the world just now thinking I've got him.

[00:07:19] Those of us that don't will be disappointed, but I don't know.

[00:07:22] It's just got a different feeling to that messy gate.

[00:07:25] I think.

[00:07:26] I think the fact that you didn't have a chance is like with messy gate, you didn't, you have like seven minutes for 15 minutes.

[00:07:56] I did try to pack him and I'm pretty frustrated about it.

[00:08:06] Nobody said it just plainly frustrates me, but I didn't try it either.

[00:08:11] So I think the general consensus, if you tried and you didn't pack him, you're bumped out.

[00:08:17] I'd rather have spent 1500 points than 225,000 coins.

[00:09:06] It makes me think one thing though, that it's important to check out which players are

[00:09:11] you're able to pack during these weird packs.

[00:09:13] Cause I didn't actually check it out.

[00:09:20] But actually you, there was like one in 10, you, you'd actually pack them anyways.

[00:10:17] But he's come out as a striker with alternative positions, right back, left back, centre back.

[00:10:23] I mean, to be fair, as a centre back, he doesn't look bad.

[00:10:25] He's got power header plus and he's got decent defending traits as well.

[00:10:28] I think he's got jockey block, anticipate, slide tackle, bruise and aerial.

[00:10:33] So actually...

[00:10:34] Good sliding tackle, good defensive awareness, good standing tackle.

[00:10:37] Yeah, for a centre back.

[00:10:38] Very good interceptions.

[00:10:40] Absolutely.

[00:10:42] His roles are weird, like you've got on the screen.

[00:10:44] He's got target, forward, plus, plus.

[00:10:46] And he's got full back on either side, plus and defender, plus.

[00:10:50] So yeah, it's a very strange card.

[00:10:53] I wonder how many people are going to do this.

[00:10:55] Like I say, as an actual centre back, it's not bad.

[00:10:58] And it gives you a little bit of in-game sort of fluidity if you're changing formations in-game.

[00:11:02] But it's...

[00:11:04] Yeah, it's a no from me.

[00:11:05] But you know, 87 physicality and 87 defence, like you say, with those traits

[00:11:08] and decent sort of base stats.

[00:11:11] It's not a bad centre back, to be fair.

[00:11:33] And actually, as a fullback, that card doesn't look too bad either.

[00:11:46] As a fullback, it is a bit low maybe, but it's just...

[00:11:50] Now, this is a card I can't recommend.

[00:11:53] Like, can't say you must do this card.

[00:11:55] And contrary to the player, we will just be naming off this one though.

[00:11:59] But I do think it's an interesting card to have in your team

[00:12:03] because you can go from a three at the back to a two at the back

[00:12:10] and put them up striker as an extra striker just...

[00:12:12] and have the advance of having rolls.

[00:12:15] Or go from a two at the back, a three at the back, put them at a fullback,

[00:12:19] let them overlap and he could do some harm without losing any stats.

[00:12:24] It'd be a while.

[00:12:25] I think he's probably made for a centre back, a fullback that's, you know,

[00:12:29] a defensive fullback because his pace is that little bit lacking.

[00:12:32] His crossings not great.

[00:12:35] And his shot power though.

[00:12:36] Yeah, his shot power is decent.

[00:12:38] Power header.

[00:12:39] Like I say, his defensive stuff is very good as well.

[00:12:41] So actually, if you play one of your fullbacks on stay back,

[00:12:45] it's probably a decent idea.

[00:12:47] I wouldn't put him left back because I think he's three star, three stars.

[00:12:51] That would be a bit more of an issue.

[00:12:53] But if you play conservatively or even want to shore up your game

[00:12:57] at the end of the game, like he's actually not bad.

[00:12:59] And it's quite fairly priced.

[00:13:00] I think 80 odd thousand is not dreadful for a card like this.

[00:13:03] And you'll sure fit some Evo down the road as well.

[00:13:06] He might be quite decent in an Evo, you know,

[00:13:08] because he's got that sort of flexibility as well.

[00:13:10] So I don't think it's a bad idea at all.

[00:13:12] I just, it's just not one for me to be honest.

[00:14:08] So if those of you that can't see the screen John's put up, we've got the 87 rated.

[00:14:18] So for the, for the awareness I've got the 90 rated Casillas who hasn't let me down.

[00:14:23] So I thought I'm not going to touch this until the main step before we even go into the stats.

[00:14:28] The main thing, John, do you want to explain the big perk of this?

[00:14:32] Yeah.

[00:14:33] So I have said this a couple of times before.

[00:14:37] John has the far reach plus play style.

[00:14:42] And not only because of the theory, I'll show what it is, but far reach basically means

[00:14:50] this play style is goalkeepers who can go the extra inch when saving shots from outside

[00:14:56] the box prevent long range goals.

[00:14:58] And I've said this before, which for example, the goalkeeper from Atletico, which name I

[00:15:03] now keep forgetting.

[00:15:04] Oblak.

[00:15:05] Oblak.

[00:15:05] Thank you.

[00:15:07] There are a couple of players, but not actually many.

[00:15:10] There's like seven, I think, including Buffon, the original Buffon as well, that has this

[00:15:16] far reach plus.

[00:15:18] And even with it, like one tad of goalkeeper movement, these goalies are able to stop the

[00:15:24] Finet shot, the Trivetta shots from outside the box.

[00:15:26] And you know, Nathan, if you get on a higher level, those are ramped still.

[00:15:31] Right?

[00:15:32] Absolutely.

[00:15:34] That's why the normal GG before on guard is still very expensive because it does help.

[00:15:39] This card also has that same play style plus.

[00:15:44] And because he doesn't affect chemistry, he's always on max chemistry anyways.

[00:15:51] And the other ones are Oblak and Tink Sommer.

[00:15:55] This is the best option you could ever get with having a goalkeeper with that chemistry card.

[00:16:01] There's another one that's the female goalkeeper 92 rated, I think, but she's very small.

[00:16:07] And I don't think far reach plus matters when you're already 20 centimeters down on everyone else.

[00:16:13] But it does matter on this.

[00:16:14] For me, of course, Juventus and performance like my hero as a goalkeeper, right?

[00:16:20] I would have done this anyways.

[00:16:22] But the far reach plus makes this, I feel, a card he should just do.

[00:16:27] Yeah, you've twisted my arm to doing it.

[00:16:30] I mean, his face stats are good.

[00:16:31] Kick-ins a bit of a letdown.

[00:16:33] I think he's got 76 kicking.

[00:16:35] So that's the only thing that kind of drops for me.

[00:16:38] But his dive in is still tremendous like it was.

[00:16:40] His position is in the 90s.

[00:16:42] His handling is decent.

[00:16:43] So, no, I think I'm probably going to go and craft this over the next couple of days,

[00:16:47] which is weird because I thought I'd be set now for a while with my Casillas.

[00:16:51] But I think the far reach one, as soon as you kind of sort of have that,

[00:16:54] that he helps with your Travellers.

[00:16:57] And it's not, to be fair, it's not so much Travellers that's the issues.

[00:17:00] It's the finesse shots seem to be everywhere, including when I play.

[00:17:04] I love to try and score a finesse.

[00:17:06] So I'm one of those guys.

[00:17:07] But if that's, you know, even a little leg up, it would definitely be a lot easier in the short term anyway.

[00:17:15] If I'm not mistaken, I could very much be mistaken.

[00:17:19] Not that it works.

[00:17:20] Yeah, like Ronaldinho has the regular finesse shot as well.

[00:17:23] And there's a lot of players that at least have the regular finesse shot, right?

[00:17:27] Yeah.

[00:17:28] Every little help you can get is probably worth taking,

[00:17:31] especially if some of these players are going to be all over the place again.

[00:17:34] And you know, if you have an icon goalkeeper, like you have with Casillas,

[00:17:38] it's easy to build and just keep, don't think about goalkeepers anymore.

[00:17:42] Yeah.

[00:17:42] And it's great for your team building, great for that chem link.

[00:17:45] It gives everyone a boost anyway.

[00:17:46] So it means you can get one or two chem on players that you just throw in there.

[00:17:50] So it's definitely a handy one to have.

[00:17:52] Definitely.

[00:17:53] So I think it's a, it's a must do if I'm honest.

[00:17:56] Well, I'll take your advice there and I'll go and do it just after this.
