[00:00:00] Hello footies, welcome back to your latest dose of football ultimate team podcasting goodness.

[00:00:07] We are FUT IN REVIEW powered by footcoaching.com.

[00:00:11] We are recording this on Tuesday the 17th of December 2024.

[00:00:16] Welcome along to our final Tuesday Club as you know it.

[00:00:22] And you know, it's our farewell because my job is changing a little bit.

[00:00:26] So don't worry, I'm still going to be around FUT IN REVIEW.

[00:00:28] But the way we do things on Tuesday and the schedule might be tweaked a little bit.

[00:00:33] Details to come after Christmas on that one once we actually, you know, figure it out.

[00:00:37] So my journey with Shaq and Nathan on regular Tuesdays is over.

[00:00:42] And Shaq is so upset, Nathan, that he's not even turned up to the final show.

[00:00:48] Yeah, I mean, it's an emotional day for all of us involved here, Dan.

[00:00:52] You know, massive kudos on the secondment promotion.

[00:00:55] It's fantastic for you, but I have to say it's very inconsiderate of you furthering yourself to the detriment of this Tuesday Club.

[00:01:03] But it's a shame that Shaq's not here.

[00:01:05] He's had a lovely addition to his family with a wee pup.

[00:01:09] And I think puppy daddy seems to be calling.

[00:01:13] And he's obviously a bit too sad to actually put it into words for us today.

[00:01:18] Exactly. You know, best of luck because that is no easy feat.

[00:01:21] I mean, look, I've not had a new puppy in the house since I was about 13.

[00:01:26] So I can only imagine the pain.

[00:01:28] I have had two children to raise though, so that'll explain that one.

[00:01:33] Right. Loads to get to on this final Tuesday Club.

[00:01:36] We're just going to, again, as we do if you are, you know, just joining us for the first time on a Tuesday Club.

[00:01:41] It's a bit more of a relaxed feel.

[00:01:42] We don't really go over too much content and things like that.

[00:01:45] But I mean, Nath would be a miss to this weekend, you know, because of, you know, the action with the short show and things like that.

[00:01:52] We do have a little bit to catch up on.

[00:01:54] Yeah. I mean, one thing we can say is EAR starting to pump out some of the content.

[00:02:00] Maybe not the SPCs in terms of player SPCs.

[00:02:02] They've been a bit lacking, but there's been lots of EVOs.

[00:02:06] There's been lots of objectives.

[00:02:08] I know the guys touched on the new team, which actually surprised me.

[00:02:12] I know they've gone over it, but I actually quite like this.

[00:02:14] Is it Globetrotters team?

[00:02:16] I think there's some handy players in there.

[00:02:18] I'd started my team of the year save, and I've already ditched that to try and get some of these players,

[00:02:23] which, surprise, surprise, I've not got any more than discard.

[00:02:27] But we've got to say, you know, hats off.

[00:02:29] There is plenty to be doing just now.

[00:02:31] Yeah, there's loads to be getting on with.

[00:02:33] I like the fact they released a kind of a, not quite a league, it's not even really a league SPC,

[00:02:39] the Globetrotters challenge that they released yesterday, is it, Nate?

[00:02:42] Because, yeah, they've all got names and saying, you know, La Liga or whatever,

[00:02:46] but it's basically just one player from those leagues, and there's no chemistry requirements either.

[00:02:50] So actually, effectively, it's just a really long guaranteed Globetrotters SPC,

[00:02:56] just with squads rating from, what, 82 to, what, 77, I think the lowest one is.

[00:03:00] Yeah, I think it was coming in about sort of 27k if you did them all in the sort of the cheapest way.

[00:03:07] So I think, you know, the cheapest Globetrotters is about 20k anyway,

[00:03:11] so you're effectively paying 7k for a guaranteed pack.

[00:03:15] And when you see some of the players in these packs, it's not a bad gamble.

[00:03:18] You know, we've said it with some of the hero picks and stuff over the last few days

[00:03:22] that you've got to be in it to win it.

[00:03:24] So it's worth it, in my opinion.

[00:03:26] If you're a league SPC grinder like yourself, Dad, obviously you can just throw in your off-league cards,

[00:03:31] or the majority of them off-league.

[00:03:33] You might have to put a few sort of, you know, important or major leagues and just, you know, add up the rating.

[00:03:38] But I quite like that sort of thing.

[00:03:40] I think it's nice.

[00:03:42] I prefer to do that than to have, you know, an 86.

[00:03:44] I think in the last few years it's been like an 85 or 86 team with X amount of team of the weeks

[00:03:49] to get these guaranteed packs.

[00:03:51] So I think it's quite a pleasant way to do it.

[00:03:53] And you get some okay packs back, which, you know, helps sort of restock the club that you've been using.

[00:04:00] Yeah, I think I just counted.

[00:04:01] I think there are 14 Globetrotters, which are 15k or less.

[00:04:05] So look, let's be honest.

[00:04:08] The chances of you getting anybody really good are slim, but as Nath just said,

[00:04:13] got to buy a ticket to win the raffle.

[00:04:15] I did it.

[00:04:16] I think I lost out over.

[00:04:17] I didn't get anything in the trade-all packs.

[00:04:19] But I'm at that kind of stage now, Nath, where I've got a good settled team.

[00:04:24] I've got a decent amount of coins in my account.

[00:04:26] So I'm quite happy to have a go at some of these things, even if I don't think that's brilliant value for money.

[00:04:34] As long as it's not a case of sinking, you know, hundreds of thousands of coins into something that's not good value,

[00:04:39] I don't mind having that little go.

[00:04:43] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:04:44] And how many times over the last few years have we said, yeah, you're being repetitive.

[00:04:48] You know, it's the same thing.

[00:04:49] You know, recycle, recycle, recycle.

[00:04:51] So I'm not against them changing up like this at all.

[00:04:54] I mean, I got Nagasato, I think, from the MLS.

[00:04:58] She's 14k.

[00:04:59] But 88 rated, 4 star, 5 star, you know, in some sort of objective, I'd imagine she'd actually come in fairly handy.

[00:05:10] She doesn't look the worst player in the world.

[00:05:11] So things like that.

[00:05:13] I would never go out and buy her.

[00:05:14] But, you know, I'm fairly happy to have her and just hide her away in the club for future needs.

[00:05:19] So there are some good players and there's some random players that you might get that, you know, that could come and help and use sort of down the line.

[00:05:26] So I like it.

[00:05:28] I think it's a nice wee change.

[00:05:29] It keeps things fresh.

[00:05:30] And I don't think, I think they could have done that in a lot worse way.

[00:05:34] They could have made the requirements stupid or the financial kind of side of things really daft.

[00:05:38] But I think it's quite adequate for what, you know, what we do.

[00:05:42] And again, it's not like you have to do it.

[00:05:44] It's just that it's a nice way to do it.

[00:05:46] I can't remember which streamer it was I was watching.

[00:05:48] I can't remember if it was Nick or Nepenthes, the two ones I've watched kind of the most.

[00:05:52] One of them was saying that it almost feels like FC has now become a, the promos between the big promos are just there as just filler.

[00:06:02] And EA are quite happy for that to be the case.

[00:06:04] And we've always talked about on this show, the whole feast and famine cycle.

[00:06:08] But now just becomes, to me, it just becomes very much more apparent that EA are waiting to psych you up for the bigger promo.

[00:06:15] So we had Thunderstruck and Black Friday, what, two weeks ago now.

[00:06:19] And now we're getting set for Winter Wildcards.

[00:06:22] It's coming this week as well.

[00:06:23] And so kind of EA are quite happy to let people, I don't know if they're happy to let people be frustrated,

[00:06:28] but they're not just going to be throwing content after content after content because presumably they just don't want people burnt out.

[00:06:35] Yeah.

[00:06:36] And it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario because, you know, when we log on, especially on the app or whatever,

[00:06:43] if you log on at six o'clock and go, there's very little here, you log off and people are frustrated.

[00:06:47] But then, you know, sometimes if it's SBC, SBC, SBC, SBC, SBC, we go, calm down.

[00:06:54] You know, there's all these cool things to do.

[00:06:55] We've not got the fodder.

[00:06:56] Oh, EA are doing this just to drive us to the store.

[00:06:59] So, you know, I think over the past weeks and months we have been really critical and I think it's important that we take that balanced approach and go,

[00:07:05] actually, you know, some of the players in packs are very good.

[00:07:09] Yes, the pack weight seems to have gone downhill yet again, as we predicted.

[00:07:13] But actually, nice players in.

[00:07:14] They're giving us new things.

[00:07:15] They're also giving you a bit of a breather because, you know, even the objectives they bring out, they're not overly onerous.

[00:07:21] So it's not like you're having to play 50 matches and get X, Y and Z.

[00:07:24] So I'm OK with it.

[00:07:25] You can log on.

[00:07:26] You can have a couple of hours.

[00:07:27] You can do what you need to do and you can chill a little bit because, you know, winter wildcards usually.

[00:07:32] Well, if we go by last year, it was daily SBCs, daily player SBCs.

[00:07:36] Some of them were very, very good.

[00:07:38] We had icons.

[00:07:39] We had decent just standard players.

[00:07:41] And then it'll probably be the lull before the storm of team of the year, which we know is just carnage as well.

[00:07:47] So, again, pack weight and that will be minimal.

[00:07:49] But there's always lots to do at team of the year time.

[00:07:52] So I'm OK with this.

[00:07:53] I think it's quite refreshing, to be honest.

[00:07:55] I don't know what your take on it, Dan.

[00:07:57] But I don't think it's a bad sort of time to be around the game.

[00:08:01] No, I think there's enough to be getting yourself, you know, keep yourself occupied with.

[00:08:06] It was quite funny going back to the Panthers.

[00:08:08] He released a video of the day talking about the League SBC grind.

[00:08:10] And he starts the video by saying League SBC grind is just not worth it.

[00:08:15] You know, and then by the end of it, it was actually like, hmm, I think this might actually be worth it after all.

[00:08:21] Which is just the thing.

[00:08:22] And I think one of the problems with us as a community, look, I would say possibly, especially not so much Nath, because Nath does bring a lot of positivity.

[00:08:30] But myself and Shaq, I'm sure I'm speaking for Shaq on this.

[00:08:33] Sometimes we focus a little bit too much on kind of the negatives and the things that are annoying us.

[00:08:38] When, you know, because we've got the blinkers on and we're focused on getting to the best possible team, you know, being as efficient as possible, making, you know, the coins last and go as far as possible.

[00:08:48] And actually, we lose sight of the fun things.

[00:08:51] So, yeah, look, an 86 base hero player pick.

[00:08:54] Yeah, you can focus on the fact that there are lots of Duff heroes in there.

[00:08:58] And I got three Duff heroes.

[00:09:00] I think you got a load of Duff heroes to pick from.

[00:09:02] But actually, it costs 100k.

[00:09:06] And if you do win the lottery and get a Yapstam or a Company or Ginola, that's great.

[00:09:13] Players they've released over the weekend.

[00:09:15] Riyad Mahrez and Dabinia, both of them, Nath, are absolutely usable.

[00:09:20] And both of them are cheap.

[00:09:22] Some are saying, OK, Dabinia, 180k, that's too much.

[00:09:26] But is it?

[00:09:27] Because 180k's worth of fodder isn't that hard to come by anymore.

[00:09:32] No, it's not.

[00:09:34] You know, five-star, five-star Brazilian lengths.

[00:09:36] Dabinia's one of these players as well.

[00:09:38] I don't know if you've used her at all, Dan.

[00:09:40] But she's really quite silky on the ball.

[00:09:43] Like, she's one of these that always seems to play a little bit above her stats.

[00:09:47] So I'm OK with that.

[00:09:48] Riyad Mahrez, although he's a former City player, I used to love watching him play.

[00:09:52] Reminded me a lot of Ian Robin, the way that he kind of cuts inside on that left foot.

[00:09:55] And you can fire it into the bottom corners.

[00:09:58] I think that's quite nice.

[00:09:59] 100k.

[00:10:00] And, you know, you've seen a special Ronaldo in that league.

[00:10:04] Lots of decent cards in there, especially with the Evos out now.

[00:10:06] So I think that's fine.

[00:10:08] I think they look really nice, usable cards that don't look top tier.

[00:10:12] But they don't look, you know, unusable and rubbish and, you know, absolutely avoid at all costs.

[00:10:17] So, you know, like you say, fodder's not dreadful.

[00:10:19] A lot of the rewards we're getting are fairly high-rated packs from objectives.

[00:10:25] Not saying, you know, I've done the ones today and they were pretty much all minimum ratings.

[00:10:29] But the opportunities are there to get these cards and fodder's not overly high right now either.

[00:10:34] So if you've got a few coins laying around, then it's not impossible to do these.

[00:10:39] Absolutely not.

[00:10:40] And again, Ian, a bit of a down-if-you-do, down-if-you-don't situation because, you know,

[00:10:44] they'll release lots of the same kind of players and people say, oh, we don't get anything new.

[00:10:50] Then they release something a bit different and people are like, oh, well, you know, these players aren't meta.

[00:10:55] You know, they'll release a load of high-priced, you know,

[00:10:57] they'll release nothing but low-priced SBCs and people say, I want a big grind to work towards.

[00:11:02] And then, you know, they release a load of big ones and it's like, oh, you know,

[00:11:05] I need something a bit cheaper to work on.

[00:11:07] So I think we're all kind of, again, I'm not going to label everybody with it,

[00:11:11] but there is that temptation to focus on the negatives of it.

[00:11:15] Whereas, as you said, Nate, there is lots of things to have fun with.

[00:11:18] I loved playing that Evo's Elite Friendly.

[00:11:20] It reminded me of back in the day playing the Silver, you know,

[00:11:23] do you remember when they used to have tokens locked behind the Silver Lounge?

[00:11:27] And you got to feel quite smug because as a Silver Lounge, like regular,

[00:11:31] you had a great Silver team.

[00:11:33] I felt like that this week with the Evo Elites because I've got all of my Reading Evo players.

[00:11:38] So I was able to go into it and I think I won, what was it, you need 12 wins.

[00:11:43] I think I got like that in 15 games.

[00:11:45] I just blitzed through it.

[00:11:48] So selfishly, I was like, it was nice to be rewarded for having this weird random Reading team

[00:11:56] with a couple of other Evo ringers like Chloe Kelly in there.

[00:11:59] So I liked that.

[00:12:00] It was something a bit different.

[00:12:01] And the packs, Nate, as you said, there were some good packs in there for not a lot of effort

[00:12:05] for a mode where most people are playing Golden Goal.

[00:12:08] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:12:08] It was grand.

[00:12:10] I went into some and you can see by some people's teams, they've literally just thrown the first Evo on folk

[00:12:16] just to get enough players to do it.

[00:12:18] So like yourself, I just had the seven though.

[00:12:22] I didn't have a full United team or anything.

[00:12:24] But I did quite a lot of the meta Evos.

[00:12:26] So I was fairly comfortable as well.

[00:12:29] So yeah, it's nice.

[00:12:30] It's nice to be able to feel like you can, you know, we've always asked for this, this more relaxing game mode.

[00:12:36] And I think friendlies on the whole have been fairly chill, to be honest.

[00:12:40] You know, I mentioned it last week, Adam put out a 4-2-1-3 formation, which is absolutely cooking in friendlies.

[00:12:48] It's not so great in rivals because it's so intense, but in friendlies, it's great.

[00:12:54] So it's nice to be able to experiment a little bit.

[00:12:56] You can use some of these players.

[00:12:57] I mean, I had Kobi Minu from the first couple of weeks and I was about 8-4 rated, but he was still fine.

[00:13:03] It was just, it's just nice to use a different squad.

[00:13:05] And, you know, if you go on down, I quit out, you know, golden goal, well played guys, easy,

[00:13:10] because people are going to do it again.

[00:13:12] So yeah, it's nice just to be able to be in a more positive place in the game.

[00:13:16] And, you know, I'm not trying to force myself to be the positive one with you and Jack,

[00:13:20] because I think we're all kind of feeling like it's a little bit more of an all right place to be again.

[00:13:25] Yeah. And look, I had a mixed week on this game.

[00:13:29] I've, again, moving to a slightly different role for a little while.

[00:13:32] So I've had a bit more on my plate.

[00:13:33] So I haven't had as much game time to play as I would like.

[00:13:36] I did go through weekend league.

[00:13:38] I went eight and seven a week after getting, what was it, 10 wins last week or something like that?

[00:13:45] Or nine wins.

[00:13:46] I can't even remember anymore.

[00:13:47] But I started this week.

[00:13:48] So I started last week, nine and three.

[00:13:49] Then I started this week, four and seven.

[00:13:53] And what I do, and look, we have had a couple of patches as well.

[00:13:56] It is worth putting that out there.

[00:13:58] And I'll get nice kind of feelings on those patches and tweaks.

[00:14:02] It relates to a question we've got in the mailbag.

[00:14:05] But I still can't figure out this game, Nate, in terms of am I good?

[00:14:10] Am I not good?

[00:14:11] Is it all just a bit of a lottery?

[00:14:14] And I rallied and finished eight and seven.

[00:14:16] So again, every week this year, I've ended somewhere between seven and 10 wins.

[00:14:21] So I guess that is just kind of my level.

[00:14:23] But yeah, it's always quite frustrating in those moments where you do lose two or three.

[00:14:27] And I know you go through the same in rivals where you'll go through that little mini run

[00:14:30] where you can't seem to buy a win.

[00:14:32] And then things just click again out of nowhere.

[00:14:34] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:14:35] And I think one of the important things is to listen to your advice that you give me

[00:14:39] is don't change things too often because I've constantly changed formations and teams.

[00:14:44] And then you guys tell me off and then I tell myself off because it backfires on me.

[00:14:47] So, I mean, getting seven wins regularly, getting an inning above that,

[00:14:51] I think it clearly shows you're a good player.

[00:14:53] And, you know, you're the two rivals.

[00:14:56] And I think, you know, that's no mean feat to get there as well.

[00:14:59] So I think it's probably a good time to talk about this patch, to be fair,

[00:15:02] because since this patch has been out, like this is the first patch you've had

[00:15:06] where I feel like the game's different.

[00:15:08] And it's hard to put your finger on what exactly it is,

[00:15:10] but can't score corners at all.

[00:15:14] And again, it relates to another question,

[00:15:15] but I can see so many counterattacks on corners

[00:15:18] and I'm going to have to find a new way to do it

[00:15:20] because unless I'm scoring directly with Ferrell and Mandy,

[00:15:22] then I can't actually seem to score them and stop the counter.

[00:15:26] The passing seems nicer, but the game feels a little bit slower as well.

[00:15:31] It's weird.

[00:15:31] It just...

[00:15:32] There's something there that seems very different.

[00:15:35] And I'm not saying I dislike it at all

[00:15:37] because I think it does feel a little bit more realistic, I think.

[00:15:42] I don't think it's quite as arcadey as it has been.

[00:15:45] So I do quite like it,

[00:15:46] but it definitely means you have to kind of adapt to the way that you play

[00:15:49] and adapt to your approach to the game.

[00:15:51] Yeah, well, let's read out those questions from the mailbag.

[00:15:53] Again, to get those questions into us, join the Discord.

[00:15:56] It's absolutely free.

[00:15:57] The link is posted on every set of show notes.

[00:16:00] You can experience, you know, it's a great community.

[00:16:02] It's a great community that has these kind of conversations that we have on the Tuesday Club,

[00:16:05] just on a daily basis.

[00:16:06] There's lots of different...

[00:16:07] If you've never used Discord, by the way, before,

[00:16:09] and I know there are lots of people out there who...

[00:16:11] I hadn't used Discord before I started this show.

[00:16:13] It's basically like an old school chat room.

[00:16:15] If you ever use chat rooms back in the day,

[00:16:17] or if you're younger and you don't even know what a chat room is,

[00:16:20] it's just a constant flow of conversation.

[00:16:23] And we have different rooms for different topics and things like that.

[00:16:26] It's absolutely free.

[00:16:28] Most of the posts that you will hear,

[00:16:29] in fact, all of the hosts you hear on this show,

[00:16:31] appear in there at different times.

[00:16:33] So get on over there.

[00:16:35] Absolutely free.

[00:16:35] So the question submitted,

[00:16:37] one from the King of the North, Ingby.

[00:16:38] Do you guys think the meta has changed much after the latest patch?

[00:16:42] Saw on the pro event yesterday that not many tried to score corner goals.

[00:16:45] Saw some surprising results there,

[00:16:47] saw pros make many more mistakes than usual.

[00:16:49] Was there too much pressure?

[00:16:51] And Nero also sends his question in,

[00:16:53] any good tips for corners?

[00:16:54] Think I'm more likely to concede on a counter now than to score a corner.

[00:17:00] And just as I answer those questions,

[00:17:01] because, you know, it's the final Tuesday club of the year.

[00:17:04] So of course, Nathan Downs disappears on me.

[00:17:07] So I'm flying solo for a little bit

[00:17:09] while Nathan sorts out his technical difficulties.

[00:17:12] So I'll do my best to answer my own question I've just said to him.

[00:17:16] In terms of corners, Nero,

[00:17:17] I think what I have now started doing is going back to going short,

[00:17:20] calling that man short or woman short.

[00:17:23] And then I'll either try and do that whipped in cross,

[00:17:26] or I will then try and get to the corner of the area.

[00:17:29] I'm still finding a lot of success with the corner tactic

[00:17:32] that kind of got a little bit OP last year.

[00:17:35] It wasn't widely used,

[00:17:37] but I know me and Nath were certainly,

[00:17:39] I would say abusers of this tactic,

[00:17:41] because it was, I think, fairly legit.

[00:17:43] It wasn't OP.

[00:17:44] You could defend it.

[00:17:44] But what you do is you send a ball either directly

[00:17:48] to just the player on the very corner of the box

[00:17:52] and then back to the corner taker.

[00:17:54] Ideally, that corner taker will have whipped cross,

[00:17:57] either plus or just normal.

[00:17:59] And then you just kind of wait.

[00:18:01] And then somebody,

[00:18:02] one of your defenders will tend to make a run at the back post.

[00:18:05] And if you time it right,

[00:18:07] you can kind of get a free header

[00:18:08] or a free volley at that back post.

[00:18:10] So that's what I've been doing from corner kicks at the moment.

[00:18:14] Yeah, so for corners,

[00:18:15] like I said, I've been having a few issues.

[00:18:17] Excuse me.

[00:18:18] But my latest thing to do is,

[00:18:20] especially for in-swingers,

[00:18:22] make sure you've got a finesse

[00:18:24] plus player taking the in-swinger,

[00:18:26] play a wee short one,

[00:18:27] and then try and finesse it for the edge of the box,

[00:18:29] which I'm not sure is the most effective way of doing it.

[00:18:31] But it's working for me

[00:18:32] because you either get another corner out of it

[00:18:34] or you can get some lovely goals out of it too.

[00:18:36] So I've started to try and play a little bit shorter at corners.

[00:18:40] The meta, to be fair,

[00:18:42] hasn't changed an awful lot.

[00:18:45] Counter-attacking from set pieces seem to be rife.

[00:18:48] I've seen players trying to keep the ball a little bit more.

[00:18:51] I don't know whether it's because I'm now top-ended.

[00:18:54] They have two, so players may be slightly changed.

[00:18:56] But definitely noticing people are kind of playing

[00:18:58] sort of ticky-tack of passes more than they used to.

[00:19:01] But I don't know, Dan, have you experienced that?

[00:19:03] Or is that just kind of my own experience?

[00:19:07] I always find these questions so difficult

[00:19:09] in terms of what has changed after the patch

[00:19:11] because I play a couple of sessions.

[00:19:14] The corner thing, that's something that's very, very noticeable

[00:19:18] because it's easy to see that I'm not conceding corners.

[00:19:22] You're not just getting people dunking on me with Van Dijk

[00:19:25] from set pieces and things like that.

[00:19:27] But also on the downside of that,

[00:19:29] I'm finding that opportunities to score

[00:19:31] from what I consider legitimate crosses and stuff

[00:19:33] have gone down as well.

[00:19:35] So I don't know.

[00:19:36] I'm a little bit worried that maybe the balance has gone too far

[00:19:39] the other way.

[00:19:40] And as Nuro says, he's more likely to concede on a counter

[00:19:44] than to score a quarter, which is the wrong balance.

[00:19:47] But I mean, our old corner tactic, Nath,

[00:19:50] the player pass out to the person on the edge of the box,

[00:19:54] then play it back to the corner taker,

[00:19:56] and they can deliver an in-swinging cross.

[00:19:58] Cross, that still does yield me a few goals.

[00:20:01] If you wait, someone will usually make a run at the back post.

[00:20:05] So that's how I've been kind of building my corners.

[00:20:08] But again, you do get counted on.

[00:20:10] But then again, some people say, well, that is football.

[00:20:13] It happens.

[00:20:14] So it's a difficult one to balance that.

[00:20:16] I do think they were OP.

[00:20:17] So I'm glad they've been kind of nerfed a little bit

[00:20:19] because it did feel, it felt cheesy, didn't it?

[00:20:22] If you were sat there and you played really well

[00:20:24] and then you just conceded a couple of corners.

[00:20:27] Yeah, it did.

[00:20:28] But to be honest, I was one of those

[00:20:29] that took advantage of corners.

[00:20:31] I managed to be able to suss out exactly how to cross the ball

[00:20:34] and where to cross it too.

[00:20:36] So I am a little bit meh that it's not quite as good

[00:20:39] because it was a very reliable source of goals for me.

[00:20:42] So if you had someone with a power shot,

[00:20:44] you'd actually have a power shot at target.

[00:20:46] You'd either score or usually get a corner

[00:20:47] and then you think it's almost as good as a goal

[00:20:49] because you've got a high percentage of chance of getting it.

[00:20:52] So I do quite like the fact it's mixed up a little bit though.

[00:20:56] I do enjoy sort of exploring new ways to create

[00:20:59] and it keeps things a bit fresh.

[00:21:00] But it would be nice to have a slightly higher chance

[00:21:04] of getting it if you put it perfectly.

[00:21:07] Same with the open gameplay meta.

[00:21:09] I don't think that's changed awfully.

[00:21:11] I've seen a few things online about how R1 dribbling

[00:21:14] seems to be a lot easier now, a lot more sort of effective.

[00:21:17] And you do see that your players are kind of taking

[00:21:19] a few extra touches on the ball

[00:21:21] when you're trying to do close control dribbling.

[00:21:23] So it's quite nice that you get a little bit more

[00:21:25] sort of movement and control and build up that way.

[00:21:28] Yeah.

[00:21:30] It's one of those things where I also find it very hard

[00:21:33] to adapt myself when things change.

[00:21:35] I will just keep doing the same old things.

[00:21:37] So I'm probably one of the worst persons to call out.

[00:21:40] And that's why we have the brilliant Art of Foot show

[00:21:42] with John and Artyom where they can break down things

[00:21:45] in much better details.

[00:21:46] I'm just a, you know, you're a bang average FC player.

[00:21:50] But one of the things moving away from the meta and things

[00:21:53] like that I did want to talk about,

[00:21:54] and I know you wanted to discuss as well, Nathan,

[00:21:56] is I've loved the fact that this week has been Evo week.

[00:21:58] You know, we were starved of Evos during the last promo,

[00:22:02] and now we're getting these daily evolutions,

[00:22:05] which are providing upgrades to a lot of my Reading players.

[00:22:08] It's given me those fun headaches of who do I put into what.

[00:22:12] But I think you've had a few little things

[00:22:14] that have been annoying you with it.

[00:22:16] Yeah.

[00:22:16] Yeah, like I've already quicksold Rashford and re-Evoed him

[00:22:21] to try and get sort of better stats

[00:22:23] because it wouldn't allow me just to upgrade the one I had.

[00:22:25] And I'm in the same position again that you can link these new Evos.

[00:22:28] So they do give you really nice players.

[00:22:30] But the only ones that seem to fit either what, you know,

[00:22:33] the need for my squad or the players that I like,

[00:22:36] you can use Cobby Mine or I can use Rashford.

[00:22:38] Both of them have got sort of a version of Evo on them.

[00:22:41] If I try and Evo them as is, it just doesn't work.

[00:22:45] So I like the fact there's lots of Evos.

[00:22:47] And to be fair, it probably should force me to use other players.

[00:22:50] But, you know, Rashford is so good normally.

[00:22:54] If you want to maximize that,

[00:22:55] I don't understand why we have to find ways around it.

[00:22:59] Like my idea in my head is that these players, you know,

[00:23:03] if you've got like an 86 rated one and, you know,

[00:23:07] the Evo gives you stats up to a certain point,

[00:23:08] I just want to be able to chuck my Rashford in and, you know,

[00:23:11] get his shooting from 87 up to 90.

[00:23:14] Like it would be instead of having to quick sell and then go through all these

[00:23:18] different Evo links.

[00:23:19] And same with Cobby.

[00:23:20] I've missed out on a couple of them,

[00:23:21] but you can almost get him like Hullet Gang.

[00:23:24] And he's quite OP in the game, actually.

[00:23:25] For those that have used him, he's actually really nice to use.

[00:23:27] But to try and get him up to that level,

[00:23:29] got to quick sell and then start all over again with the new Cobby Mine.

[00:23:32] And for me, that sounds, that seems counterproductive.

[00:23:35] It limits the amount of Evos you can use.

[00:23:37] And maybe it's to try and get you to use other players.

[00:23:39] But when you've got players,

[00:23:40] you've got attachment to through your club with just through Lichen.

[00:23:44] I think that it's a little bit disappointing that it's kind of like disregarding that.

[00:23:50] And I thought the whole idea was to have a bit more fluidity.

[00:23:52] So you could put these players in and it would just max out X,

[00:23:55] Y,

[00:23:55] and Z stat rather than having to do it all again.

[00:23:57] So I'm a little bit lost in kind of the methods of the madness here.

[00:24:04] You're still on mute, Dan.

[00:24:07] We are having an absolute great time, technically.

[00:24:10] This is why the show's ending, by the way.

[00:24:11] It's not because I've got a new role.

[00:24:13] It's because we've all been sacked.

[00:24:14] We've all been sacked.

[00:24:15] Just losing the plot.

[00:24:18] I was going to say,

[00:24:19] I completely agree with what you just said.

[00:24:20] My only theory with this is that EA have seen

[00:24:24] that people are chaining too many Evos together

[00:24:27] and ending up with just two good players.

[00:24:31] And the barrier now they seem to be putting down is,

[00:24:34] one, role plus pluses,

[00:24:36] and two, that they keep giving people these overall boosts

[00:24:40] that are just so annoying.

[00:24:42] So like, for example, I've got an 86 rated Sam Smith.

[00:24:46] One of the Evos that was released this week,

[00:24:49] this striker-based one,

[00:24:50] I think Attacking Apprentice it's called.

[00:24:52] I can put him into it,

[00:24:54] but he will only get like...

[00:24:57] a couple of tiny boosts.

[00:24:58] I might do it just for the Advanced Attacker++ role.

[00:25:04] But I'm also sitting there thinking,

[00:25:06] well, he's getting so few stat boosts from this,

[00:25:09] but the problem is he'll be boosted to 88 rated overall.

[00:25:13] And at 88, the chance of EA releasing an Evo

[00:25:16] that fits an 88 rated player are slim

[00:25:19] because this is how they're gatekeeping it.

[00:25:21] So you're in that really tricky position

[00:25:23] where you're like, okay, do I do the Evo?

[00:25:25] Do I not do the Evo?

[00:25:26] Do I wait?

[00:25:27] And that's why I kind of tend to wait

[00:25:28] as long as humanly possible

[00:25:30] to put players into these evolutions.

[00:25:31] So they do seem to have gone against what they advertise.

[00:25:35] They are still restricted.

[00:25:37] The stat limits aren't really working as intended.

[00:25:40] They're almost working in the opposite way

[00:25:42] because it's just capping loads of stats.

[00:25:46] And as others have said,

[00:25:47] you're just ending up with similar players

[00:25:50] rather than having truly unique ones.

[00:25:51] But overall, Evo's have been good for me this year.

[00:25:54] As I said, I'm rocking four players,

[00:25:57] I think, in my current starting lineup

[00:25:58] that are Reading players.

[00:25:59] One, two, three, four, five.

[00:26:01] I've got five Reading players in my team

[00:26:03] that's getting eight wins in weekend league

[00:26:05] and is in div two rivals.

[00:26:07] That's fantastic.

[00:26:08] And look, I'm no Harry, Harry Hesketh.

[00:26:10] I'm not one of those players

[00:26:11] that could use like a bronze team

[00:26:12] and get away with it.

[00:26:14] So that shows you that they're at least

[00:26:15] maybe not the top meta.

[00:26:17] Sam Smith, he cost me a few goals this weekend.

[00:26:19] I did have to have some words with him.

[00:26:21] But yeah, overall, I understand the annoyance

[00:26:25] and I do think they need to come up with this.

[00:26:27] I don't understand why you can only have one Evo player.

[00:26:30] It must be something to do with it.

[00:26:32] It's probably something more to do with the coding, Nath,

[00:26:34] I think, than an actual strategic decision,

[00:26:37] if that makes sense.

[00:26:38] Yeah, it's got to be

[00:26:39] because there's no other reason not to, to be honest.

[00:26:43] It's got to be in the coding.

[00:26:44] And it obviously doesn't like to have

[00:26:46] like an Evo version of the same player.

[00:26:49] Otherwise, it's just EA being ridiculously tight,

[00:26:52] I think, and ridiculously stingy.

[00:26:54] So we'll give them the dues and say,

[00:26:57] yeah, it must be in the coding.

[00:26:58] Something that hopefully they can work out

[00:26:59] for the next year.

[00:27:00] Because, you know, if you've got Evo sitting there

[00:27:04] that's an 86 and you've got another one at 88,

[00:27:06] you can have, you know, a gold player

[00:27:08] and a promo card of the same one,

[00:27:09] or you can have two different promo cards

[00:27:10] of the same player.

[00:27:11] So don't understand quite how that's working.

[00:27:14] So hopefully it's just a blip

[00:27:15] and you're still trying to, you know,

[00:27:17] teething problems and such.

[00:27:18] But, you know, it's hard to kind of,

[00:27:20] hard to say unless you speak to EA,

[00:27:22] but they obviously don't like to speak to folk all the time.

[00:27:25] Yeah, although I did appreciate the fact

[00:27:27] that they went on, you know,

[00:27:29] they didn't take up our invitation,

[00:27:30] but they went on the, another Foots podcast,

[00:27:34] the Foots weekly podcast.

[00:27:35] Not that other podcasts exist, everybody.

[00:27:37] You only have to listen to this one.

[00:27:39] They had a parallel dimension

[00:27:41] where another EA podcast exists.

[00:27:44] I liked that they had Tom Calefi on there.

[00:27:46] And he actually took, you know,

[00:27:48] he talked about the impacts of roles

[00:27:50] and what they do to players

[00:27:53] and very much clarifying, you know,

[00:27:55] for the first time that roles

[00:27:56] are a lot more important than I think

[00:27:58] even we gave credit for.

[00:28:00] Talking about how it will effectively boost

[00:28:03] their stats if they have these role plus pluses.

[00:28:07] And again, watch another fascinating video

[00:28:10] where the Panthers did kind of deep dive

[00:28:12] in the interview that Tom Calefi gave

[00:28:14] on that podcast and his own thoughts

[00:28:16] and stuff like that.

[00:28:17] It was interesting because he's now,

[00:28:19] and I'm kind of going to have a bit of a play around

[00:28:20] with it as well.

[00:28:21] He was saying the attacking positioning stat

[00:28:23] and defensive awareness stats,

[00:28:25] he thinks are now more valuable

[00:28:27] than things like pace.

[00:28:29] So he's moved away from just going

[00:28:31] hunter shadow, hunter shadow

[00:28:32] into things like Sentinels,

[00:28:34] the stuff that boosts defensive awareness.

[00:28:37] So I've changed a couple of my defenders to it.

[00:28:39] And again, I've not had much time to play.

[00:28:41] They'll be interested to see how that impacts things.

[00:28:44] Because again, Tom Calefi was saying

[00:28:46] that role plus pluses, you know,

[00:28:47] they will affect the runs people make.

[00:28:50] So he says there might be 10 runs available.

[00:28:52] And the person with a role plus plus

[00:28:54] is far more likely like he's nine,

[00:28:56] he'll find the ninth or 10th best run.

[00:28:58] Whereas someone with no role plus

[00:29:01] will be struggling for one of those

[00:29:03] sort of five inferior runs.

[00:29:04] Yeah, I mean, we were talking

[00:29:06] in our own group chat with Shaq

[00:29:08] when he was talking about Vinny

[00:29:09] and I'm saying I've got him in my team

[00:29:11] because when I play with the three up top,

[00:29:12] Vinny is a left winger on plus pluses.

[00:29:15] Ridiculously good, like unreal.

[00:29:17] But when I'm playing a 4-2-3-1 wide

[00:29:19] and he's just basic,

[00:29:21] he's not got any pluses or plus plus,

[00:29:23] he's pretty much unusable.

[00:29:25] Like he has his, you know,

[00:29:26] you can speed boost merchant him.

[00:29:28] But apart from that,

[00:29:29] like you don't really notice him in the game.

[00:29:31] But as soon as you've got a player

[00:29:33] with a plus plus,

[00:29:34] like he's almost like a completely new player.

[00:29:35] So that totally adds up

[00:29:37] and I can see that.

[00:29:38] And I am trying to find ways

[00:29:40] and, you know,

[00:29:40] we'll talk about my player in review,

[00:29:42] somebody I never thought I would have

[00:29:43] in the squad, let alone in the team.

[00:29:45] But I threw him in there

[00:29:46] because he's got a power shot plus

[00:29:48] and he's got a role plus or role plus plus.

[00:29:51] And actually, what a difference it makes.

[00:29:53] And it makes these players

[00:29:53] that you would totally not even look twice at,

[00:29:56] go, oh, actually,

[00:29:57] that's quite a good option to have.

[00:29:59] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:30:01] And speaking of players and roles

[00:30:03] and things like that,

[00:30:04] it is time, Nathan,

[00:30:06] for our favorite thing to do

[00:30:09] in a week, in a show.

[00:30:11] Player in review.

[00:30:15] I almost got double player in review there

[00:30:17] because it came out of my PC speakers

[00:30:18] rather than my headphones.

[00:30:21] Who have you picked

[00:30:22] for player in review this week?

[00:30:23] Everything's going wrong, folks.

[00:30:24] Everything's just going wrong.

[00:30:26] It's, yes, typical Tuesday club.

[00:30:29] My player in review, surprisingly,

[00:30:31] is Georgie Hadji.

[00:30:33] So I was playing around

[00:30:34] with some of the objectives

[00:30:35] and I had to do a few rival games.

[00:30:36] I've got my wins comfortably

[00:30:38] sort of top-ended div two,

[00:30:40] so I thought I'm going to go to 4-5-1.

[00:30:43] Georgie Hadji as a attacking

[00:30:45] center mid playmaker,

[00:30:47] so he's got a role plus on that one,

[00:30:48] but he's also got the power shot trait.

[00:30:50] Put a hunter on him.

[00:30:51] He's actually really quite tasty.

[00:30:53] He's got four star, four star,

[00:30:54] power shot left-footed.

[00:30:55] You put a hunter on him

[00:30:57] and he does end up with 90 pace,

[00:31:01] 92 shooting.

[00:31:02] His passing's still very, very good.

[00:31:04] His dribbling's decent, not amazing.

[00:31:07] Defending lapsing down,

[00:31:08] but when he's an attacking CM,

[00:31:10] you just need another body

[00:31:11] rather than relying on him to tackle

[00:31:13] because I've got the player of the month,

[00:31:15] Patry and Casemiro next to him to do it all.

[00:31:17] So really nice.

[00:31:19] He's at 100k,

[00:31:20] which is kind of low end,

[00:31:21] obviously, for the icons,

[00:31:23] but really nice player that surprised me.

[00:31:26] Just, you know,

[00:31:27] don't know if he's going to be there

[00:31:28] forever and a day,

[00:31:29] but he's definitely going to be,

[00:31:30] you know,

[00:31:30] in my squad for a rotation option.

[00:31:33] I like it.

[00:31:33] I used,

[00:31:35] my player interview for today is the,

[00:31:38] I can't remember what the promo's called.

[00:31:40] What was the last promo called?

[00:31:41] Is that the succession,

[00:31:44] ultimate succession, is it?

[00:31:45] Yes.

[00:31:45] Ultimate succession,

[00:31:46] Alessandro Del Piero

[00:31:47] was the player I used.

[00:31:51] Great Cam.

[00:31:52] Play him as a shallow striker.

[00:31:53] He's got that plus plus role.

[00:31:55] Scored some fantastic goals.

[00:31:57] Loved the left stick dribble.

[00:31:59] Really good wriggle on it.

[00:32:00] The only problem,

[00:32:02] well, two problems.

[00:32:03] Number one,

[00:32:03] he's a million coins.

[00:32:04] I'm not sure he's quite worth that.

[00:32:07] But the other thing was as well,

[00:32:08] it's just the strength.

[00:32:09] And it's a problem that Del P cards

[00:32:11] have always had.

[00:32:12] He does have that,

[00:32:13] especially if you're playing against a defense

[00:32:15] with the likes of Van Dijk in it

[00:32:16] and the new red Canate card

[00:32:18] that people seem to have rapidly got.

[00:32:20] I don't know how.

[00:32:21] I'm still stuck in the mid-20s,

[00:32:22] let alone 35.

[00:32:23] But that's a side issue.

[00:32:25] But when he comes up against

[00:32:26] those kind of players,

[00:32:27] again,

[00:32:28] he's just getting bullied a bit off the ball.

[00:32:29] So, and I am a bit of a bumper cars,

[00:32:32] physical player.

[00:32:33] I do like to try and,

[00:32:35] you know,

[00:32:35] wriggle through gaps

[00:32:36] and things like that.

[00:32:37] Well, not wriggle through gaps,

[00:32:38] bulldoze through gaps.

[00:32:40] So,

[00:32:41] didn't quite work for me.

[00:32:42] Sold him for a small tax loss.

[00:32:45] But I think if you are someone with,

[00:32:46] you know,

[00:32:47] the multi-million budget

[00:32:48] and you do,

[00:32:48] you know,

[00:32:49] if you want to try that kind of player

[00:32:51] for a weekend,

[00:32:51] he certainly won't let you down,

[00:32:52] Nathan.

[00:32:52] I know you've got him.

[00:32:53] I think he's on your bench,

[00:32:54] isn't he?

[00:32:55] Yeah.

[00:32:56] So,

[00:32:56] he's my Cam Redham playing

[00:32:58] my 4-2-3-1.

[00:33:00] Again,

[00:33:00] he's shadow striker on that as well,

[00:33:02] I think.

[00:33:03] I like him because he gets into nice pockets.

[00:33:06] He's not your out and out striker.

[00:33:07] I think you're completely right.

[00:33:08] He's not got the physicality

[00:33:10] to be a sold striker.

[00:33:11] But as a shadow striker,

[00:33:12] even as a playmaker,

[00:33:13] he pops up in really good areas.

[00:33:14] And the five-star weak foot

[00:33:16] with the finesse shot plus,

[00:33:18] I think is ridiculously good at times.

[00:33:20] He sort of gets you out of messes

[00:33:21] just by getting a little bit of space

[00:33:22] and being able to finesse it.

[00:33:23] So,

[00:33:24] really nice card.

[00:33:25] But again,

[00:33:25] he's not worth the coins.

[00:33:27] But how many players really are worth the coins?

[00:33:30] If you've got a game-changing player,

[00:33:32] you're talking a million upwards.

[00:33:34] And at this stage of the game,

[00:33:35] with only one play style

[00:33:36] and what's around the corner,

[00:33:38] I think that that amount of coins is...

[00:33:41] I struggle to spend it,

[00:33:42] as you guys all know,

[00:33:44] because I'm a dragon

[00:33:45] and you guys have got a new nickname for me.

[00:33:47] So,

[00:33:47] I do struggle.

[00:33:48] Yeah.

[00:33:48] One I can't say on a family-friendly show.

[00:33:51] That was well coined by Shaq.

[00:33:53] join the Discord

[00:33:53] and we will tell you the nickname

[00:33:55] that we gave Nath.

[00:33:56] And there's another one

[00:33:58] to encourage you to join the Discord.

[00:34:01] Yeah,

[00:34:02] I would kind of argue the opposite,

[00:34:04] though,

[00:34:04] in that I just think

[00:34:05] if you find a good player

[00:34:06] that you really get on with,

[00:34:08] like I,

[00:34:09] for example,

[00:34:10] was really getting on with

[00:34:11] Cole Palmer's

[00:34:13] Trailblazers card

[00:34:14] and I kept rebuying that card

[00:34:16] and taking losses on it

[00:34:17] just because it was so good.

[00:34:19] He's one of the few players

[00:34:20] that had Shadow Striker++

[00:34:23] at that period in the game.

[00:34:24] So,

[00:34:25] I didn't mind taking the hit on them

[00:34:27] because I was getting,

[00:34:28] you know,

[00:34:28] as we've talked about before,

[00:34:29] it's,

[00:34:29] you know,

[00:34:30] your loan fee

[00:34:31] or your contract fee,

[00:34:32] whatever you want to call it.

[00:34:33] So,

[00:34:34] my advice is

[00:34:34] if you do find a player

[00:34:35] that really fits the way you play,

[00:34:38] don't,

[00:34:39] you know,

[00:34:40] don't be too cheap on it

[00:34:41] and,

[00:34:42] you know,

[00:34:42] look,

[00:34:42] if you think a new version,

[00:34:44] for example,

[00:34:45] like when I sold the base Ashley Cole

[00:34:46] because I knew a new Ashley Cole

[00:34:48] was coming out,

[00:34:50] that is more sensible stuff.

[00:34:52] But if it's just a,

[00:34:53] oh,

[00:34:53] I'm worried

[00:34:54] because they're an expensive player,

[00:34:56] my advice is always,

[00:34:57] you know,

[00:34:58] the likelihood of them

[00:34:59] jumping off a cliff

[00:35:01] price-wise is slim

[00:35:02] and even if they do drop

[00:35:04] 100,

[00:35:04] 200k,

[00:35:05] whatever,

[00:35:06] that's not,

[00:35:07] that 200k isn't going to get

[00:35:08] your next amazing player

[00:35:10] so why worry too much about it?

[00:35:12] Yeah,

[00:35:12] I know,

[00:35:13] I'll be re-returning to my Wayne Rooney

[00:35:14] I think in time for

[00:35:15] the next Rivals run.

[00:35:18] One of the few players

[00:35:19] that you just instantly click

[00:35:20] and he's got a bit of everything.

[00:35:23] So you are right

[00:35:24] but it's also very hard

[00:35:24] when you've got so many coins

[00:35:25] invested in a single card.

[00:35:28] Yeah,

[00:35:29] I absolutely,

[00:35:29] I absolutely understand.

[00:35:31] And that's,

[00:35:32] you know,

[00:35:33] I think that just,

[00:35:34] just about wraps up

[00:35:35] the Tuesday Club.

[00:35:35] I feel a bit bad,

[00:35:36] Nath,

[00:35:36] because I think,

[00:35:37] and I apologise if it's come off

[00:35:39] too much in this show

[00:35:40] that's been littered with

[00:35:41] technical errors,

[00:35:42] both my own

[00:35:43] and not yours.

[00:35:44] But I'm just kind of

[00:35:45] in a bit of a weird place

[00:35:46] with this game

[00:35:47] where I'm at that point

[00:35:48] where I'm just turning up

[00:35:51] and playing.

[00:35:51] I'm just turning up

[00:35:52] and playing games.

[00:35:53] I'm not thinking too much

[00:35:54] at the moment

[00:35:56] about the market,

[00:35:57] about tactics.

[00:35:58] I'm just kind of like,

[00:35:59] I'm enjoying playing

[00:36:00] with my Reading team.

[00:36:01] I'm trying to just chill out.

[00:36:02] I'll play my weekend league games.

[00:36:04] I'm playing usually

[00:36:05] to five rivals wins

[00:36:06] and then going on.

[00:36:07] So I almost feel like

[00:36:09] a bit of a fraud

[00:36:09] sitting in the host chair

[00:36:10] because I'm not,

[00:36:12] I'm not experimenting.

[00:36:13] I'm not diving in

[00:36:14] and really sort of

[00:36:16] getting scripts

[00:36:17] with all the different facets

[00:36:18] of the game right now.

[00:36:19] Yeah,

[00:36:19] I don't think you can be a fraud

[00:36:20] with a silky smooth voice

[00:36:21] like that, Dan.

[00:36:22] So you're totally fine.

[00:36:23] But no,

[00:36:24] it's,

[00:36:25] I've,

[00:36:25] I've on the whole

[00:36:26] enjoyed this game so far.

[00:36:27] There's been bits

[00:36:28] that's bugged us

[00:36:29] and, you know,

[00:36:29] I do,

[00:36:30] I do like the objectives

[00:36:31] and I do like the wee grind.

[00:36:33] So I have to say

[00:36:34] I'm still,

[00:36:34] still in a fairly good place

[00:36:35] with that,

[00:36:36] but I totally see

[00:36:36] why people get frustrated.

[00:36:38] You know,

[00:36:38] I keep up with a lot

[00:36:39] of different views

[00:36:39] in the Discord

[00:36:40] and on,

[00:36:40] on socials.

[00:36:43] The game's not as gripping,

[00:36:44] I don't feel,

[00:36:45] as it has been.

[00:36:46] I think the golfing,

[00:36:48] you know,

[00:36:48] taking your team

[00:36:48] to the next level

[00:36:49] is as big as it's probably

[00:36:50] ever been right now.

[00:36:51] I think that

[00:36:53] some of the,

[00:36:53] you know,

[00:36:54] the rivals,

[00:36:55] I think it's been quite good

[00:36:55] that you can get relegated,

[00:36:57] but at the same time,

[00:36:58] it's a bit of a stress

[00:36:59] that you can get relegated

[00:37:00] at the same time.

[00:37:02] Hopefully they'll open

[00:37:03] weekend league up to a longer run

[00:37:04] so I can,

[00:37:05] I can finally play weekend league.

[00:37:06] So as with everything,

[00:37:08] we're not going to,

[00:37:09] well,

[00:37:09] I say we,

[00:37:09] EA aren't going to suit everybody

[00:37:10] and to be fair,

[00:37:11] we won't in how we,

[00:37:13] we sort of discuss it,

[00:37:14] especially on the Tuesday club.

[00:37:15] I know we've had some sort of

[00:37:16] feedback in the past

[00:37:17] that we've been negative

[00:37:18] or, you know,

[00:37:19] we're not as hyped

[00:37:19] with the game.

[00:37:20] So we can't,

[00:37:21] we can't suit everybody.

[00:37:22] But I think one thing

[00:37:23] that we do

[00:37:24] is we stay true

[00:37:25] to our own opinions,

[00:37:26] you know,

[00:37:28] sometimes we get in ruts

[00:37:29] and we want to vent about it.

[00:37:30] Sometimes we try and stay positive.

[00:37:32] But I think that's something

[00:37:33] that,

[00:37:33] you know,

[00:37:34] it's important

[00:37:34] that we all have different opinions

[00:37:36] and,

[00:37:36] you know,

[00:37:37] I'm going to miss the Tuesday club.

[00:37:39] You know,

[00:37:39] we'll try and keep a form of it going.

[00:37:41] I don't know

[00:37:41] how it's going to run.

[00:37:42] And I'm sure Shaq and myself

[00:37:43] will probably have a few Tuesdays

[00:37:46] in your absence,

[00:37:47] you know,

[00:37:48] obviously when,

[00:37:48] when my wee one comes along

[00:37:49] that I'll probably be out

[00:37:50] until after Christmas next year.

[00:37:53] So I'll come March,

[00:37:54] April time.

[00:37:54] So lots of things happening.

[00:37:56] But it's so nice,

[00:37:57] you know,

[00:37:57] we've gone about our Discord a lot,

[00:37:59] but it's so,

[00:38:00] it's been so nice

[00:38:01] being able to share things

[00:38:01] in the Discord

[00:38:02] and, you know,

[00:38:03] you know,

[00:38:03] good things and bad things.

[00:38:04] We get so many good comments back

[00:38:06] and chats back and stuff.

[00:38:07] So I think it's a good way

[00:38:09] to plug the Discord as well

[00:38:10] that it's a lovely place to be.

[00:38:12] It does keep people motivated

[00:38:13] in the game

[00:38:14] when it's in a bad state

[00:38:15] and obviously share the highs

[00:38:16] as well when you're enjoying it.

[00:38:18] Yeah,

[00:38:19] absolutely.

[00:38:19] And look,

[00:38:19] it's been a,

[00:38:20] you know,

[00:38:20] this isn't goodbye.

[00:38:22] As Nate said,

[00:38:24] you know,

[00:38:24] you will still hear

[00:38:25] all of our three voices

[00:38:26] on Foot in Review,

[00:38:28] which is,

[00:38:28] you know,

[00:38:29] going through changes all the time.

[00:38:30] And I think John spoke about it

[00:38:31] on the show the other week.

[00:38:33] You know,

[00:38:33] it's a case of learning

[00:38:35] what's working,

[00:38:35] what's not working.

[00:38:36] And look,

[00:38:37] thank you for all your feedback

[00:38:38] as well.

[00:38:40] That's really appreciated.

[00:38:41] And,

[00:38:42] you know,

[00:38:42] we're very lucky

[00:38:42] that John just lets us

[00:38:43] basically go out on a Tuesday

[00:38:45] and talk about a load

[00:38:46] of random stuff

[00:38:47] and then he'll edit it together.

[00:38:48] But he's kept us on air

[00:38:49] this long.

[00:38:50] So hopefully,

[00:38:51] you know,

[00:38:52] we've not upset too many people

[00:38:53] and listeners out there.

[00:38:54] But if you like what we're doing,

[00:38:56] you know,

[00:38:56] please give that feedback

[00:38:57] into our social,

[00:38:58] into our Foot in Review

[00:38:59] and Foot Coaching socials.

[00:39:01] footinreview at gmail.com

[00:39:02] as well.

[00:39:03] Let John know,

[00:39:04] especially John,

[00:39:05] because he's the overall

[00:39:05] overseer of things,

[00:39:06] what you're liking.

[00:39:07] Do you like shows

[00:39:08] that are a bit more relaxed

[00:39:09] and informal

[00:39:10] like we've been doing here

[00:39:11] on the Tuesday Club?

[00:39:11] Or do you like the more structured,

[00:39:13] update-y based ones

[00:39:14] with the shorts

[00:39:15] or the kind of way

[00:39:16] they go through content

[00:39:17] on Friday nights?

[00:39:19] We're here to try

[00:39:20] and make the best possible

[00:39:21] shows for our listeners.

[00:39:22] You know,

[00:39:22] we will happily talk off air

[00:39:24] about things

[00:39:24] in our own way.

[00:39:26] So, look,

[00:39:27] we need to be,

[00:39:28] you know,

[00:39:29] in tune with what

[00:39:30] all of you folks

[00:39:31] out there want.

[00:39:31] So please let us know.

[00:39:33] As I said,

[00:39:33] we're not going anywhere.

[00:39:34] Things will just change

[00:39:35] a little bit.

[00:39:36] I'm sure John

[00:39:37] will kind of get to it more,

[00:39:38] but, you know,

[00:39:38] we're going through

[00:39:39] a bit of a Christmas break anyway.

[00:39:42] So, you know,

[00:39:42] I hope everybody

[00:39:43] has a lovely Christmas.

[00:39:45] It's Winter Wild Cards,

[00:39:46] Nate.

[00:39:47] It's one of my favourite

[00:39:47] promos of the year.

[00:39:48] So, I mean,

[00:39:49] hopefully they continue that

[00:39:50] as well over the next

[00:39:51] couple of weeks.

[00:39:51] Yeah, absolutely.

[00:39:52] If they do it justice,

[00:39:54] like I say,

[00:39:54] last year,

[00:39:55] I think it was a really

[00:39:55] good promo.

[00:39:56] I think it was quite

[00:39:56] underrated last year

[00:39:57] because the amount

[00:39:58] of content we had

[00:39:59] was crazy.

[00:40:00] So hopefully they can

[00:40:01] keep that up.

[00:40:03] Set us up on a good

[00:40:04] pedestal going into

[00:40:05] the new year,

[00:40:06] you know,

[00:40:07] and then it'll be

[00:40:08] all action for

[00:40:09] Team of the Year.

[00:40:10] It'll be Operation Save

[00:40:11] after Winter Wild Cards

[00:40:12] for me for sure.

[00:40:14] Yeah,

[00:40:14] that Team of the Year

[00:40:15] train is rapidly

[00:40:16] pulling into the station.

[00:40:17] I think it'll probably

[00:40:18] be about, what,

[00:40:19] around a month today.

[00:40:21] We'll probably see it.

[00:40:22] It's about the 17th

[00:40:23] of December's

[00:40:23] re-record this.

[00:40:24] So, let's look forward

[00:40:26] to it.

[00:40:26] Please just play the game

[00:40:28] when you enjoy

[00:40:29] playing it.

[00:40:30] You know,

[00:40:31] don't sit there

[00:40:32] and worry that you

[00:40:32] haven't reached a

[00:40:33] certain level in the

[00:40:34] season ladder or that

[00:40:35] you haven't completed

[00:40:35] an objective or you

[00:40:36] haven't got a token

[00:40:37] or things like that.

[00:40:38] Life is too short.

[00:40:40] Please enjoy it.

[00:40:41] I stick around on

[00:40:42] playing this game

[00:40:43] because I enjoy

[00:40:43] chatting with everybody

[00:40:44] about it.

[00:40:45] I love doing foot and

[00:40:46] review.

[00:40:46] I love our Discord.

[00:40:47] And that brings me

[00:40:48] much more joy than

[00:40:49] the actual playing of

[00:40:50] the game.

[00:40:50] I don't know

[00:40:50] whether that's a

[00:40:51] good thing or a

[00:40:51] bad thing.

[00:40:52] That's just how it

[00:40:53] is.

[00:40:54] And yeah, look,

[00:40:56] thank you very much

[00:40:57] to everyone for

[00:40:57] tuning in.

[00:40:58] Again, join that

[00:40:58] Discord.

[00:40:59] It's absolutely

[00:40:59] free.

[00:40:59] If you want to

[00:40:59] go the extra mile

[00:41:00] as well,

[00:41:00] patreon.com

[00:41:01] forward slash

[00:41:02] foot and review,

[00:41:02] you get the

[00:41:03] aforementioned

[00:41:03] art of foot show.

[00:41:05] Apologies to John

[00:41:06] for all the effort

[00:41:07] you're going to

[00:41:07] have to go through

[00:41:08] editing this show

[00:41:08] together.

[00:41:09] But look,

[00:41:10] hopefully it is

[00:41:11] worth a grind.

[00:41:12] Nath, for the

[00:41:13] final time on our

[00:41:15] regular Tuesday

[00:41:16] club show,

[00:41:17] what have we got

[00:41:18] to do?

[00:41:19] We've got to

[00:41:20] drop it.

[00:41:21] We are going to

[00:41:23] drop it.

[00:41:24] Take care,

[00:41:24] everyone.

[00:41:25] Drop it.
