[00:01:38] Correct. But apparently, at least in the Netherlands, all the stores go on Black Friday today. So I've been spammed with Black Friday messages. I've been called because of course for the company that people want to sell us stuff. It's Black Friday. You want to like get the dough with half the price, whatever. And all day long.

[00:01:59] And I came here and I was like okay let's see what Black Friday brought us. But Black Friday in food is next week, Yngvi. The official week.

[00:02:08] Yeah, that's the official week is next Friday. In Norway we call it, well the stores of course they call it Black Week.

[00:02:18] So they're like throwing stuff for a few weeks. It's more like Black two weeks now, this year. It started on Monday and they're still going Black Week and now it's going until next Friday I guess.

[00:02:30] And then it's Cyber Monday right after.

[00:02:32] Yeah, yeah, we have after that. My inbox, my emails, there's never been as many commercials coming in and popping up in my email box as during this Black Week, Black Friday thing.

[00:02:47] So I guess the stores are eager to give me lots of cheap stuff, but I haven't been tempted yet.

[00:02:57] Well, I kind of bought, but it wasn't on sale though. But I needed a new controller for my Xbox and I found a good deal on the...

[00:03:35] Although I can't say I survived the first day of Black Friday week, so I bought way too much already. So I'm trying not to buy anything for the next week.

[00:03:53] Before we start diving into promotion, we had a chat with some feedback in the... within the podcast team this week.

[00:04:04] Well, for most of the case, and I was a little bit lucky yesterday, you were a little bit lucky yesterday, but most generally speaking, back weight has been abysmal for most people, right?

[00:04:13] And we got some feedback that's actually maybe not such much fun to listen about us discussing players.

[00:04:20] Most of the people can't afford or we can't even afford.

[00:04:23] So we've decided that during promotions like today's promotion, we will look at the team.

[00:04:29] We will say all the cool players, but we will not take any deep dive into what we currently think are unaffordable players.

[00:04:37] We will mention them.

[00:04:39] Sure, this player looks cool.

[00:04:41] Hey, but it's 4 million.

[00:04:45] If the players are expensive and you could buy them, you don't need us to tell us to tell you it's actually a good player to do so.

[00:04:54] So we're looking instead on players for the deep dives that are either affordable or oversighted and might be worth a highlight.

[00:05:41] And what was either your highlight or your nightmare moment?

[00:05:48] Well, the highlight was that I got enough wins for the upgraded rewards in Rivals, which gave me around almost 200,000 coins in rewards since I packed a few good players.

[00:06:04] Yeah, that's...

[00:06:05] It's not happening often, so I'm enjoying it while I can.

[00:06:11] Other than that, there's been a decent amount of content.

[00:06:18] I have liked a few of the player SPCs, I guess, because they are some nice ones today, of course.

[00:06:31] Foot Legend, which I will talk about.

[00:06:34] So that's nice.

[00:06:36] We got a kit SPC as well yesterday.

[00:06:39] Makes you happy always.

[00:06:41] Yeah, always happy Her Game 2 kit.

[00:06:43] So I did that one, of course.

[00:06:44] So that's a big plus as well, for me at least.

[00:06:46] We had some showdowns, which I like, of course.

[00:06:51] So that's been quite okay.

[00:06:56] I still hope that the players, not the showdowns, because they are fine.

[00:07:03] But other player SPCs hasn't been as good as I hoped.

[00:07:10] All saving for Black Friday, Friday.

[00:07:13] Yeah, I hope so.

[00:07:14] We are ready, I think most of us, for some bigger type of cards being released that will go into the team.

[00:07:24] I looked at Zanetti, but I feel it's not worth 350,000 coins.

[00:07:32] So I'm really glad you felt that way.

[00:07:35] Because it made me look silly on the shorts about him this week.

[00:07:40] I think that's too much.

[00:07:43] I'm hoping for something more exciting and usable that will make my team.

[00:07:48] But I like the, there's been quite a bit of showdowns.

[00:07:53] I've done pretty much all of the showdown SPCs released so far.

[00:07:56] And I think I'll be doing that this week as well.

[00:08:01] Because they're good priced cards.

[00:08:04] They are quite usable already.

[00:08:09] If they don't win, they will still fit some kind of cool evolutions on the way.

[00:08:15] And they're not too highly rated, so you won't be too tempted to put them into an SPC hopefully.

[00:08:19] So it kind of makes it a little bit more exciting following those.

[00:09:08] So that was 195K along with the normal rewards.

[00:09:14] Pretty happy with that, honestly.

[00:09:17] So I finally have some coins, although I don't know where to spend them on or I'm interested in actually buying a player, but still it does help, I guess.

[00:09:27] Pretty decent.

[00:09:28] We made two tactics this week.

[00:10:26] And for some of our followers, I guess they remember this promo from last year, which was a little bit miss in the start.

[00:10:44] So that, but I think it got people watching a little bit more of the FC Pro tournaments.

[00:10:51] So that's a way to kind of boost the numbers that way, releasing players connected to each Pro in the event, which is cool.

[00:11:03] So what we didn't like is that for the players to get all the upgrades, I think we will be in February or something like that to get the max upgrades, which isn't very cool.

[00:11:17] Well, it's Saturday, the first of February is when the finals take place.

[00:11:23] So yeah.

[00:11:26] So that's maybe I wish we didn't have to wait that long because a few of these cards will be behind the curve, I guess.

[00:11:34] But it's cool that they can get lots of different upgrades.

[00:11:38] So yeah, if you can get a skill move or a weak foot upgrade next after that for six points, 10 points in the event gives them a role plus and an alternative position.

[00:11:57] If the player that represents the card gets 16 points, we'll get another inform upgrade.

[00:12:06] And if they then qualify for the next step, they will get one inform and one role plus extra.

[00:12:13] And if they win the whole thing, the card will also get another inform upgrade, another skill move or weak foot upgrade and one play style plus.

[00:12:26] So there's a lot of different upgrades for this.

[00:12:29] So that's was kind of a bit fun in the beginning when because they could get quite, I think it was 10 or 12 points.

[00:12:36] They can get could get the first kind of game days.

[00:12:40] So the players got some really nice boost straight away.

[00:12:44] Yeah, so until December 16, there's four matches.

[00:12:47] So you could get a player that have 12 points maximum.

[00:12:50] Yeah, so they could get good to could get some cool upgrades.

[00:12:58] And if we talk about inform upgrades, that just means a plus one or plus two on the card, right?

[00:13:03] It all depends.

[00:13:04] I know we had that question last time.

[00:13:06] Yeah, but if it's inform upgrade, it depends on what kind of if they start.

[00:13:12] I think some cards went from 86 to 88 this year.

[00:13:18] So I'm guessing maybe 85 to 87.

[00:13:21] If they are 88, 87 or 88 rated, I think they get just a plus one and above.

[00:13:29] So if it was just an overall upgrade, it would be a plus one to every card.

[00:13:35] But I'm guessing the 85 and the 86 rated cards might get a plus two, the first uniform upgrade.

[00:13:42] And after that, the higher rated ones just get a plus one, which we already knew.

[00:13:50] So it's a little bit confusing.

[00:13:52] So we'll see.

[00:13:54] I'm not 100% sure about the 85 to 87 or not, or 86 to 88.

[00:14:04] But it's not a plus one upgrade.

[00:14:06] I think that's the biggest difference.

[00:14:31] It's just kind of a place filler for me to what's bigger, better.

[00:14:39] Remember, I think Thunderstruck came after this promo last year.

[00:14:45] And will probably be there for next week as well.

[00:14:48] But the Thunderstruck promo was really, really, really cool last year.

[00:14:52] One of the best ones, I think, at least for me.

[00:14:57] I've got some criticism on this promo.

[00:15:20] for the esports scene, that's also cool for us.

[00:15:23] It's food coaching, of course, but makes player watch for, because they have the players

[00:15:30] in their team.

[00:15:31] That could be cool or they'll seem upgraded.

[00:15:32] But anyways, it shines a highlight on the pro scene, which I think is a good thing.

[00:15:36] Right?

[00:15:39] There's a couple of issues with my, with the problem here is that they give you the info.

[00:15:44] You saw there, there's an EA site, which I will, if I don't forget, I'll link it in the

[00:15:48] show description as well, which explains the whole promo shows you which player is connected

[00:15:52] to which player, which esports player is connected to which card.

[00:15:55] I should say it like this when the match takes place.

[00:15:57] So it's a pretty comprehensive overview from everything.

[00:16:03] However, there is no way of actually clicking through on a player or finding a player.

[00:16:09] You got, we work in the business.

[00:16:12] So we know most players by name or experiences or we know them.

[00:16:17] But for example, we have Yafonso here, plays for Luna Galaxy and his player item is Fabio Carvalho.

[00:16:24] Right?

[00:16:27] The problem is, how do I figure out who Yafonso is?

[00:16:31] How can I root for him?

[00:16:33] Only by checking on the dates they've announced the video tournament to check on the stream on that day.

[00:16:39] But it's not like I can follow his social account.

[00:16:42] It's not that I can see those players in game.

[00:16:46] Right?

[00:16:46] It's not if I click on the Carvalho card, I see his link to Yafonso or Luna Galaxy, for example.

[00:16:55] I don't track in game what they will be doing soon enough.

[00:16:59] And I think that link between you're so close.

[00:17:03] The idea is pretty good, actually.

[00:17:05] And I said the same feedback last year, but it's not changed.

[00:17:09] You can't...

[00:17:35] So, if you haven't followed the scene closely, you will like, how did this guy do earlier?

[00:17:44] And that's exactly what I meant.

[00:17:46] This could be the gateway of letting everyone involved with the pro scene even more.

[00:17:52] So that's my first complaint.

[00:17:56] I think esports, but generally speaking, all sports is not only performed on the pitch or on the track or whatever.

[00:18:03] It's all about you following the athletes or the teams and the stories around it, right?

[00:18:10] Stories lead to more support.

[00:18:12] Stories lead to actually caring, right?

[00:18:15] You follow a certain player because he's a great story or sad story, or he's just so good.

[00:18:20] But that's also a story you can tell.

[00:18:22] Extreme talents, you name it.

[00:18:24] If you don't know these players, you will not get to know them better after this promo.

[00:18:27] That's one.

[00:18:29] Here's my second biggest complaint about this promotion.

[00:18:34] There are players linked to this and I get these players should sell packs, right?

[00:18:39] So, I feel most of the players, I will probably bring the team up on the screen.

[00:18:45] I think that's the most easiest to do.

[00:18:47] I think most of the players are pretty decent players that are on there, right?

[00:18:54] Or at least like, I think it's a pretty well-known users.

[00:18:59] Gabriel Jesus, Oshiman, you name them.

[00:19:01] We won't go into details on those expensive players, but here's my issue.

[00:19:06] If I root, for example, for a player, let's say I'm rooting for, he is linked to Nathan Ake.

[00:19:19] Nathan Ake is 665,000 coins currently.

[00:19:24] If I'm rooting for him, if I'm rooting for a Tex or I want an Ake to be promoted, I still have to get my hands on an Ake card, right?

[00:19:36] If this is one, you have to root for the underdogs because some of these cards are pretty affordable and you want those cards to maybe grow.

[00:19:46] But here's the other side around as well.

[00:19:48] We got Wout Weghorst at 44,000 coins currently.

[00:19:51] Weghorst is combined, I think, with Levi, Levi the Wit from Team Gullet.

[00:19:58] Levi could, if I look at the group stage, he could like a least quality.

[00:20:03] He will at least qualify and he could probably win the whole thing.

[00:20:08] If he's at least going to qualify, you might see him in a final and he might actually win it.

[00:20:12] But nobody cares because the card doesn't do anything.

[00:20:15] Why not for this promo entry, right?

[00:20:19] Make two teams.

[00:20:21] Get a random promo team out with all these fancy players.

[00:20:24] Still back, you can just go all nuts.

[00:20:27] There's plenty of players these years to go around.

[00:20:30] And take, we got 16 players, I think, on top of my mind.

[00:20:36] At least.

[00:20:37] How many players are participating in the tournament?

[00:20:42] 24, sorry.

[00:20:44] There are 24 players participating.

[00:20:45] Why not?

[00:20:47] Let people like have 24 players, make them all, I don't know, 85 rated?

[00:20:53] And give every single player that logs in, a player pick one out of five.

[00:20:58] Or just pick the player you're rooting for.

[00:21:02] That way people will like, oh, I want to root for, oh, who's this Levi guy?

[00:21:09] Oh, I'll take him because I want to take a bet on him.

[00:21:11] You're sort of betting on players and you're getting a card.

[00:21:14] It will create goodwill for EA from to the player base.

[00:21:18] It will also help, I think, with opening the door to esports.

[00:21:23] And if there are still good players as well in packs, you can still get 20 players in packs.

[00:21:28] That's perfectly fine.

[00:21:31] Then it's only a bonus if you pack those players.

[00:21:34] It's only added, right?

[00:21:35] But it will bring far more committed.

[00:21:37] I think this does make sense.

[00:21:39] I mean, Ruzujon, yeah, it's a pretty nice card, but I don't really care about an 85 rated left back

[00:21:43] because I can't even buy this card.

[00:21:45] It won't be on the market because people think that player will go far.

[00:21:50] And I think that's a little bit crappy.

[00:21:54] Yeah, it's a little bit annoying with all the kind of, okay, he's extinct.

[00:21:58] So that pro is going to do well.

[00:22:00] He'll must well do great.

[00:22:01] Gravenberg looks an insane card.

[00:22:03] You can't buy the 87 card.

[00:22:04] You can't buy him.

[00:22:07] No, not unless you're a super fast...

[00:22:12] Sniper on the console or something.

[00:22:15] Yeah, it's very difficult.

[00:22:16] You need to be very lucky.

[00:22:17] Maybe if you wake up in the middle of the night and then log on to your console

[00:22:21] and just spam and try to snipe, you might be able to pick him up because most people are asleep.

[00:22:27] Other than that, it's going to be very difficult.

[00:22:29] And if you do the other way around, Ingvi, if you do care about your player and you want to follow the esports,

[00:22:35] you're actually going to be rooting against some of these top players like Levi, like Yilmaz, like Stingray.

[00:22:46] Manu is there as well, of course, nobody would care about Hendrix again.

[00:22:52] X, you know, like because you want those players to lose now because if they lose, it will benefit your card.

[00:23:00] And I think rooting against someone is also not the right interest in esports.

[00:23:05] So that's sort of my two issues with this promo for me.

[00:23:09] I mean, it's a filler promo.

[00:23:11] I'm totally fine with it.

[00:23:12] It upgrades the last version in January.

[00:23:15] There's something to be said about it.

[00:23:16] I think it's too late.

[00:23:16] But then again, you can't play more matches because they are playing basically every week except Christmas.

[00:23:21] Right.

[00:23:22] So it's not really a other way to do it, but it just doesn't bring the, how do you say it?

[00:23:33] It doesn't bring the people into esports.

[00:23:35] And I think it doesn't make sense rooting for a card that's already 1.2 million.

[00:23:40] Because I wouldn't even be betting on him because even if you back that card, I'd sell him right away.

[00:23:45] Because what happens if he does lose, for example, one match?

[00:23:49] Crash.

[00:23:50] Yeah.

[00:23:50] Yeah.

[00:23:50] Just give everyone a free pick, do root for these players and get a promo team.

[00:23:54] And they've done multiple promo teams at the same time this year as well.

[00:23:57] So why not do it as well?

[00:23:59] That's just my two cents though.

[00:24:01] And I like the idea, but I think the execution is not hitting the target.

[00:24:53] Yeah.

[00:24:54] It's a, I wouldn't throw too much coins on these players, but there are some, you could get some bargains and some usable ones for very cheap as well.

[00:25:06] So, yeah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't throw all my coins out on a card here.

[00:25:12] If you pack, if you would say this player is now low rated or low value, which play and might be going for, which would you recommend or mention?

[00:25:25] That might go far?

[00:25:26] Yeah.

[00:25:27] Yeah.

[00:25:28] Or at least like be worth.

[00:25:29] Is there any place in here that you're like, it doesn't look good or he's not very expensive, but if you get this card, well.

[00:25:37] Well, there are some, well, I think the, uh, to back the card, it would be very difficult for me to get into my team, any of my teams because I don't have any links.

[00:25:52] So, uh, same with Alabet. Those are two different. If these cards had had some extra camp boost and maybe could try them.

[00:26:00] But, uh, now it's like having to change the whole teams for those cards at the moment wouldn't be worth it for me.

[00:26:05] I know they're super cheap as well, but still, I think that's, it's not going to be used a lot. I think, unfortunately, I do like that.

[00:26:14] There are some new names we haven't seen in promos before, like Morsi for Ipswich, which is cool. I think Redondo, I think is cool pick as well from, uh, Miami.

[00:26:28] So, uh, Gregorsen as well, LA, which is cool. So, uh, new, new faces, which I like, but of course the rest is pretty much, uh, we've seen, we, we know most of these players from before, but that's, uh, that's just how it is.

[00:26:48] But, uh, I'm guessing, uh, Mr. W9 will go far, which you don't like me to call.

[00:26:54] Yeah. No, you can just mention this.

[00:26:56] It's Wout Weghorst, right? We now play for Ajax, so I'm not using him this year, but that would be one I would also highlight, yeah.

[00:27:02] Good price and should be able to get a few upgrades as well.

[00:27:06] So, um, but there are some cards I could mention, which I think looks cool, even though I'm not sure how far, because I don't know the pros.

[00:27:16] I represented him, but a card like, uh, Fabio Cavallo for Brentford in Premier League is around 105,000 coins now.

[00:27:25] Yeah. It's Raffonzo though.
